A distinction is drawn between direct heat and brine ground source systems depending on the heat transfer medium in the geothermal collector. Horizontal collectors are a standard component of direct heat ground source systems (GMDW series). The brine circuit required for brine ground source systems, comprising a circulation pump, heat exchanger and expansion vessel, are not required for this. All refrigeration components are brazed. This results in even greater operational reliability, as there are fewer components as well as improved system efficiencies and lower running costs.
