It is a good idea to separate your central heating and hot water heating systems to reduce running cost. The central heating boiler can be switched off for half the year saving energy and money every day. Ambient air extracted from inside the house is transferred to a miniature heat pump and captured by refrigerant, compressed and used for generating hot water by thermal exchange. The higher the room temperature the more efficiently the heat pump operates. This is a smart energy efficient way to use waste heat, particularly from wet rooms or spaces such as a boiler room, larder, laundry, wine store, drying room or even an over heated kitchen or conservatory.

As a stand alone domestic hot water system the Europa DHW heat pumps are clean and compact, usual output range from 1.5 to 2.5 kW. Choosing the right one is crucial, considering all of the energy options on site and the right capacity be it 200, 300 or 500 liters for domestic. Pasteurization is an important issue when storing hot water, it affects both hygiene and health, these DHW heat pumps score highly in this respect: they load the DHW tank to 65 °C without the dreaded immersion even at very low room temperatures. Europa solar boilers provide reliable protection against legionella bacteria and safe hot water shortage. For those who like back up systems the DHW heat pump can have an additional boost heater to be sure to be sure. FINDING THE RIGHT LOCATION - WE CAN HELP
FOR A DHW HEAT PUMP
The location for the hot water heat pump must be selected carefully. The location must be dry and ideally above 10°C all year round. Positioning the Europa close to where hot water is required reduces heat loss but also close to waste energy such as a Shower room, Boiler rooms, Utility rooms, or where waste heat from heating systems, tumble dryers, refrigerators or washing machines can be used efficiently, is also ideal. Laundry, drying rooms or cellars where food stuff and wine are stored can also be used effectively. Europa heat pumps can extract warmth and humidity to keep foodstuffs fresh for longer or insure laundry dries faster. For installation connect your hot and cold water pipes and a waste pipe for condensate to drain into. Our experienced engineers can help choose the perfect location.
CLEVER COMBINATIONS - BIGGER SAVINGS
WITH A PV SYSTEM TO SAVE EVEN MORE ENERGY
The efficiency of the Europa heat pumps can be boosted by combining it with photo-voltaic (PV) systems, increasing the output energy of the PV to four times the thermal energy or boosting a solar thermal system to become a stand alone hot water solution. By linking the DHW heat pump and PV system on-site consumption of the solar power is increased significantly. OCHSNER heat pumps are "Smart Grid ready", equipped with the technology required to link PV and use excess PV power. If solar thermal energy is available it delivers heat to the DHW cylinder and the heat pump covers higher demand when solar thermal is insufficient. Our innovative special hot water heat pump are truly exciting. You can find models with geothermal collectors, using ground energy instead of waste heat, OCHSNER love a challenge . This solution is particularly attractive for new low energy or passive houses. DHW heat pumps with Geo-exchange provide environmentally sound and highly economical hot water all year round, regardless of weather conditions. The collectors are simply installed during construction in the ground around the foundations and require no additional garden space. Hot water is ready for use all year round with typical bills of less than €90 for one year and costs less than solar, solid fuel or boiler systems to install. The system can collect from small stream, sandy beach or even a shallow well, you suggest it, we design it.
